Change in PTO Policy

Beginning September 16, 2019, WVURC employees will be required to enter all requests for paid time off (PTO) through UltiPro.

Supervisors will also be required to process (approve or deny) all requests through UltiPro. This update for requesting PTO will ensure employees’ requests are submitted and approved in a timely fashion, records are accurate, and employees are paid correctly for their time off.

Talent and Culture launches new WVU Perks program for faculty, staff, and WVURC employees

In the spirit of WVU’s shared value of Appreciation for everything our employees do to advance the University’s land-grant mission, the Division of Talent and Culture is launching WVU Perks – an expanded online employee discount program for benefits-eligible faculty and staff, WVU Research Corporation employees and WVU Retirees Association members.

WVU Perks launched February 1 (2019) and offers local and national deals and discounts on several everyday items and services, such as restaurants, movie tickets, vacations, car rentals, online retail purchases, gift cards, professional services and more.

Dependent Education Scholarship

The Dependent Education Scholarship announces the deadlines to submit applications for the Summer 2019 semester and the Fall 2019 academic year. Summer 2019 applications are due by April 1. Applications for summer are not required if a student dependent has already been approved for the current spring semester. Fall 2019 applications are due by May 1. Students interested in Fall 2019 should apply regardless if awarded the scholarship in past academic terms.

Students eligible to receive the scholarship include dependent children of WVU, WVU Research Corporation and University Innovation Corporation benefits-eligible employees. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students.

WVURC FY2019 Compensation Program

WVURC is pleased to announce its FY2019 compensation program, which will begin rolling out in the coming weeks. Initially, the planning details of this raise information will be provided to deans’ and vice presidents’ offices.

All benefits-eligible employees in facilities-and-administrative (F&A) funded positions who are employed by the WVURC prior to July 1, 2018, will receive a 2% pay increase (or a $702 minimum increase if it is greater than the 2% amount).

HR Payroll Integration Update

As announced in late March 2017, the HR function of the Research Corporation is being centralized to the WVU Talent and Culture, formerly the Division of Human Resources. Our goal is to integrate the HR function with no disruption in service to research corporation employees and to keep you informed of any changes in staffing.

For your convenience, below is a summary of the team that will support the research corporation human resources efforts and their office locations. At this time, there are no changes to the Research Corporation, recruitment, employee benefits plans or payroll processes.

Consolidation Update

As announced in late March 2017, the HR function of the Research Corporation is being centralized to the WVU Talent and Culture, formerly the Division of Human Resources. Our goal is to integrate the HR function with no disruption in service to research corporation employees and to keep you informed of any changes in staffing.

At this time, we will be relocating the recruitment, payroll and benefits functions. This is simply a change in location. There are no changes to the Research Corporation, recruitment, employee benefits plans or payroll processes at this time.
