How do I log in to WVU Hire and create a candidate profile?

Visit  WVURC Careers and select the “Sign In” link at the top right corner of the page to create a profile or log in with your previously established username and password. 

How do I apply for a job?

Visit   WVURC Careers and click on the title of the position in which you are interested, then select “Apply Online”. Read and accept the privacy agreement and login using your credentials to apply. Be sure to review your profile and attach any relevant documents such as your resume and cover letter.

Can I attach my resume to the online application? 

Yes, simply log in to your profile and select “Additional Attachments” to attach a resume, CV, cover letter or other documents. Be sure to select the “Relevant” box next to the file name to include the attachment with your application for a specific position. 

How do I check the status of my submission after I have applied to a position? 

To check the status of your submissions, simply log in to your candidate profile and click “My Jobs”.  You will see a list of the positions for which you applied, as well as the status of each position. 

If I want to apply for more than one job, do I have to fill out a new application every time? 

You do not need to recomplete your profile for each position; however, you will apply to each position individually by clicking on “Apply Online” at the end of each job description.  The information from your profile will be automatically populated in the appropriate fields. Be sure to select “Relevant” next to any documents you’d like to include with your submission, such as a resume and cover letter. Uploaded documents without “Relevant” selected will not be visible by the hiring manager or search committee.

Can I send you my resume or a paper application? 

In order to be considered for a job opening at WVU Research Corporation, you must apply through WVU Hire and attach any documents such as your resume or CV to your profile. If you need any assistance attaching documents to your profile or completing your application, contact the Shared Services Center at 304-293.6006.

I started a submission but had to leave my computer and the application closed. What do I do? 

Log into WVU Hire and select  “My Jobs” to locate your draft submission. If the position is still posted, click on “View/Edit My Submission”. If this option is not available, we are no longer accepting applicants for this position. 

Troubleshooting

I forgot my password or username. What do I do?

If you have a WVU Hire Username and Password, select “Forgot Username” or “Forgot Password” on the WVU Hire login page and follow the directions listed there to reset your password or recall your user name.   

If the issue persists, contact Shared Services at 304.293.6006 for assistance. Be prepared to provide the first name, last name, and email address used to create your profile. 

How can I unlock my account? 

If your WVU Hire profile is locked, please contact Shared Services at 304.293.6006 for assistance. You will need to provide your first name, last name, and email address used to create your profile.  

Why do I receive an error message when I try to move to the next step of the application? 

You may not have completed a required field on the page. All required fields are marked with an asterisk (*). If you continue to receive an error message after completing all required fields, please contact Shared Services at 304.293.6006.

Which internet browser should I use? 

The WVU Hire system is compatible with all browser types. If you are having issues with your browser, please clear your browser history (cache) and try again. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact Shared Services at 304.293.6006 for assistance. If using an Apple system, Firefox is the recommended browser.
