QHDP Medical Plan
The WVU Research Corporation (WVURC) offers a Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA) through Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
The QHDHP includes an individual deductible of $1,600 and a family deductible of $3,200, which includes both medical and pharmacy.
An HSA, which allows you to save money pre-tax to pay for eligible out-of-pocket medical expenses, is included with the plan. You can earn interest on the money in your HSA and invest it so it grows over time, tax-free. You retain the money in your HSA if you leave WVURC. Further, if you have money left over at the end of the plan year, it rolls over to the next plan year.
