HR Payroll Integration Update

As announced in late March 2017, the HR function of the Research Corporation is being centralized to the WVU Talent and Culture, formerly the Division of Human Resources. Our goal is to integrate the HR function with no disruption in service to research corporation employees and to keep you informed of any changes in staffing.

For your convenience, below is a summary of the team that will support the research corporation human resources efforts and their office locations. At this time, there are no changes to the Research Corporation, recruitment, employee benefits plans or payroll processes.

WVU makes their down payment program available to Research Corporation Employees

West Virginia University has teamed with the Fairmont-Morgantown Housing Authority (FMHA) to offer an employee down payment assistance program to its faculty and staff wishing to purchase a home in targeted Morgantown neighborhoods.

These limited down payment funds are available on a first-come first-ready basis. Up to $10,000 at zero percent interest over ten years is available in the form of a forgivable loan for any eligible employee.

INSURANCE PROVIDER UPDATE

 Effective July 1, 2015, WVURC will change vendors for provision of its life, ad&d, long-term and short-term disability insurances from MetLife to Lincoln Financial Group.  These benefits will continue to be provided at no cost to employees and the change will require no action by employees.  Introductory email notices will be sent, and comprehensive information packets will be mailed to employees in the coming weeks.

USCIS H-1B Premium Processing Suspension

 USCIS anticipates receiving an extremely high volume of Form I-765 applications once the final rule becomes effective on May 26, 2015, and has temporarily suspended premium processing to ensure good customer service to both H-1B petitioners and H-4 applicants. USCIS will monitor workloads closely and may resume accepting premium processing requests before July 27, 2015, if its determined they can provide customers the level of service required through premium processing.
